CAL FIRE Basic Wildland Fire Fighter Academy #11 “Course is Full”

This rigorous 219 hours of training is specifically for those seeking a seasonal firefighter job with CAL FIRE. Graduates of this Academy also meet the minimum wildland fire training requirements needed for seasonal wildland fire control positions with most other fire agencies in California. PREREQUISITES: Minimum of Public Safety First Aid and CPR (CA Health and Safety Code 1797.182). Hazardous Materials, First Responder Operations curriculum that meets or exceeds Governor's Office of Emergency Services, California Speacialized Training Institute or State Fire Training, Fire Service Training and Education Program (FSTEP)

You must email prerequisite certification/proof of class completion to jared.krum@Fire.ca.gov by December 1, 2019

  • Certificates issued upon completion of the Academy will include:
  • CAL FIRE Basic 219 Hour Wildland Academy
  • SFM Confined Space Rescue Awareness
  • SFM Firefighter Survival
  • NWCG S-130 Firefighter Training
  • NWCG S-190 Intro to Wildland Fire Behavior
  • NWCG L-180 Human Factors in the Wildland
